Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Auto labeling (for files at rest in SharePoint Online) can now label PDF files

Microsoft Purview compliance portal's auto-labeling engine now offers the ability to label PDF files at rest within SharePoint Online. This new feature takes PDF files beyond just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It enables automatic labeling and brings PDF files under the same information protection umbrella as other Office files. The feature is now generally available and was released on October CY2023. It's worth noting that the platform is available on web cloud instances such as GCC, GCC High, and DoD.
