Microsoft Purview Information Protection: Extend sensitivity labels to meetings (GA)

Microsoft is set to make sensitivity labeling for meetings generally available, following its public preview (MC462922). This update will allow admins to extend sensitivity labels to Microsoft Outlook appointments, Teams and Outlook meeting invites, and Teams online meetings*. By doing so, labeled meetings will be in the scope of Information Protection policies, while applying sensitivity labels to protect Teams online meetings requires Teams Premium licensing. The rollout will commence in mid-February and is expected to be completed by early March.

Admins can kickstart the process by configuring sensitivity labels in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. Learning resources on sensitivity labels are also available. Therefore, organizations using Microsoft Purview Information Protection should gear up for this exciting development for a more comprehensive and streamlined information protection process.
