Reminder: Microsoft Intune ending support for Android device administrator on devices with GMS access
If you use Microsoft Intune to manage Android devices with Google Mobile Services (GMS), take note that the support for Android device administrator will end after December 31, 2024, as per the announcement posted on Microsoft's blog. Due to recent changes by Google, the management capabilities of Android device administrator have been deprecated and will not receive any improvements or fixes, leading to the termination of Intune's support for it by 2024. Organizations should stop enrolling devices with this method and move on to alternative management methods. Intune will not make any changes or updates to Android device administrator management after the support is terminated. Intune technical support will also no longer cover these devices. To prepare, migrate devices to the other management methods and check the Intune reporting to see which devices or users may be affected. Further details on the alternative Android device management methods and impact to devices without access to GMS are available on Microsoft's blog post: https://aka.ms/Intune-Android-DA-blog.
