New Microsoft Outlook for Windows: Sharing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint local files through email

Microsoft Outlook for Windows is introducing a new feature that allows users to share Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files stored locally on their devices through email. This feature will be available starting mid-September 2024 and will complete by mid-November 2024 without any admin action required. Users can easily share a file by right-clicking it and selecting "share with new Outlook". Currently, users are only able to see old Outlook for Windows when they try to share a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, but after the rollout, they will be able to share files saved to their device by selecting new Outlook for Windows. This change will be automatically rolled out, and users may need to be notified about it. This feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 397094.
