Outlook on the web is set to enhance its Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) sign and encryption as sensitivity label outcome. With the help of the set-label advanced setting, customer admins can define the label to have S/MIME sign or encryption or both, which ensures that emails with those labels applied will enforce S/MIME sign and encrypt accordingly. This update will be rolled out to Outlook in December CY2022 and will be available on web and cloud platforms by January CY2023. With Microsoft's ongoing commitment to enterprise-grade security, the MIP sensitivity label support for S/MIME is a welcome update.
