Outlook: S/MIME sensitivity label support natively on Outlook for Windows

Outlook: S/MIME sensitivity label support natively on Outlook for Windows

Outlook for Windows is set to roll out a new feature that will support S/MIME (Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) sign and encryption as sensitivity label outcomes, according to a recent announcement. This feature will enable administrators to define the label to have S/MIME sign, encryption, or both, with the emails with those labels enforcing S/MIME accordingly. The release date for this feature is scheduled for November CY2022, with previews being available from September CY2022. The platform on which this feature is available will be Desktop Cloud Instance, with availability in Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant). For more information, visit the Microsoft 365 roadmap.
