Get ready for higher-level confidentiality in your meetings! Microsoft Teams has increased the meeting size for end-to-end encrypted meetings (E2EE) from 50 to 200 participants. E2EE provides an extra layer of security to keep your meetings safe. It encrypts data at its source and decrypts the data at the destination. Only audio, video, and video-based screen sharing is end-to-end encrypted while other features such as chat, reactions, and Q&A are not.
End-to-end encrypted meetings can now be scheduled and joined from desktop (Windows and Mac) or mobile (iOS and Android) devices. Teams Room Device can also be used to join these meetings. However, the first person who joins the meeting must be from a mobile or desktop device. This enhancement will roll out from late October to early December for various releases.
To prepare for this update, inform your users that E2EE meetings can now include up to 200 participants. Refer to "Use end-to-end encryption for Teams meetings" for more details on using this feature. So, make the most of these advancements and protect your data with the latest encryption techniques.
