Microsoft Teams: Meeting ID and passcode required to join Teams Rooms on Windows

Microsoft has introduced an additional layer of security to ensure higher levels of privacy for organizations using Teams Room Pro licenses. Admins now have the ability to configure and require a meeting ID and passcode to join a meeting from a Microsoft Teams Room on Windows. This means that if the IT admin has configured the room to use this feature, the user is required to enter the meeting ID and passcode when selecting the Join button from the Teams Room calendar. This feature will be off by default and can be configured per device using a device XML setting. The rollout for this feature will begin in early April and is expected to be completed by mid-April. If you are not interested in enabling this feature, no action is needed. Just keep in mind that this feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 101332.
Overall, this new feature adds an extra layer of security to ensure that only authorized individuals can join meetings from Teams Room on Windows, allowing organizations to ensure higher levels of privacy and control over their meetings. If you are an IT admin with a Teams Room Pro license, it is recommended that you configure this feature and update any relevant documentation accordingly.
