Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Adaptive Protection in GCC, GCCH, DoD

Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention is set to become more powerful with the addition of Adaptive Protection integration for government clouds, including GCC, GCC High, and DoD. This integration will enable admins to manage policies based on insider risk levels, such as preventing high-risk users from printing sensitive data. The feature is off by default, and the rollout is scheduled to begin in early July 2024, with completion expected by early August 2024. This integration will enable admins to change, create, update, and delete policies and configure policies where users are automatically included in the scope of data loss prevention (DLP) policies based on insider risk levels. With a DLP policy integrated with insider risk levels, high-risk users could, for instance, be prevented from printing sensitive data, while low-risk users would be allowed to do so.

If your organization wishes to use Adaptive Protection integrated with Purview DLP, you can access it through Purview in Insider risk management, where it will need to be turned on, as it is off by default. The rollout will happen automatically by the specified date and does not require any admin action beforehand. Be sure to notify your admins about this change and update any relevant documentation as necessary.
