Invite people you choose in the Share control in Microsoft 365 apps
Microsoft 365 is updating its "Send Email" experience with an "Invite" flow instead of sharing links. This is due to feedback from customers who felt they may have shared their links too broadly. This new feature aims to align users' expectations when sharing files and allows them to share securely with specific people. The feature will be visible across all Microsoft 365 apps, including web, desktop, and mobile. Users will see two options for core sharing tasks: "Invite" and "Copy link." The "Invite" feature grants direct access to the file for specific people, while the "Copy link" section returns a success banner with the link scope when the link successfully copies to the clipboard. Users should follow the available tutorial in the Help button in the Share control to prepare for this upcoming update. This feature will have a targeted release in early January 2024 and a standard release in late January 2024.
