Introducing Guest App Permission Management for SharePoint Admins

Introducing Guest App Permission Management for SharePoint Admins

SharePoint online management shell cmdlets are getting an update to allow SharePoint admins to manage guest app permissions. With the latest versions of Get-SPOApplication and Set-SPOApplicationPermission, admins can view and manage guest applications' permission to access SharePoint embedded applications within their tenant. Guest applications refer to any application within the enterprise applications of the owning tenant. The update will begin rolling out in early October 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-October 2024 for General Availability. SharePoint admins must download the latest version of SharePoint PowerShell to prepare for the changes. This update empowers admins to grant access permissions to guest applications in their tenant and is expected to be completed by late October 2024.
