SharePoint admin control for App registration / update
SharePoint is upping its security measures with an enhancement to its administrative governance procedures for application registration and permission updates. Site owners will now need explicit authorization from the tenant administrator to register applications or update permissions, with set notifications displayed. The rollout process began in August and is set to conclude mid-September. Site owners are now unable to register/update apps unless explicitly allowed by the tenant admin. The tenant administrator can override this default by executing the following shell command: Set-SPOTenant -SiteOwnerManageLegacyServicePrincipalEnabled $true. Proactive measures are not required, but it is advised to inform users about the modification and update any relevant documentation as necessary.
