If you're an app developer leveraging file and document storage in Microsoft 365 to create line-of-business or multitenant applications, you'll be interested in Microsoft SharePoint Embedded, which is currently in Public Preview. With this, you can utilize APIs to create powerful apps on Microsoft's storage platform. SharePoint Embedded administrators now have increased abilities to manage SharePoint Embedded applications registered in their tenant directly through the SharePoint admin center, alongside PowerShell. After assigning the new SharePoint Embedded Administrator role from early March 2024 in the Microsoft 365 admin center, administrators can manage SharePoint Embedded containers quickly and efficiently, enabling them to oversee several functions. These functions include soft-delete and restoration of SharePoint Embedded containers, view the details of each container such as storage used, created date, owner, labels, and more, view a catalog of SharePoint Embedded containers, and manage them through SharePoint PowerShell. Before then, you should notify your users and make any necessary documentation updates in preparation.
This preview is scheduled to roll out early March 2024 and is expected to be completed by late March 2024. The Standard Release will commence mid-April 2024 and expect to complete by early May 2024. Conclusively, Consuming Tenant Admin | Microsoft Learn provides a comprehensive list of consuming tenant admin cmdlets that SharePoint Embedded Admins can execute.
