SharePoint: Using Data Access Governance to understand the tenant’s current permission landscape
SharePoint admins can now leverage Data Access Governance (DAG) to gain deeper insights into their tenant's permission landscape and make informed decisions regarding applications based on permissions, including Copilot. DAG offers a report that reflects the most recent state of permissions across the tenant and identifies sites with a higher count of permissioned users than specified by the SharePoint admin. This count includes users accessing sites via site membership and unique permissions, acting as a potential threshold for oversharing. The report also provides information on the number of existing sharing links in those sites, allowing admins to identify potential causes for oversharing. With this new feature, SharePoint admins can better manage and secure their tenant's data and permissions. For more information, please refer to the link provided.
