Planned maintenance for all certified and supported Teams Android Devices to Company Portal version
The announcement concerns automatic updates that companies should ensure are installed on their Teams Android Devices to Company Portal version 5.0.6152.0. The scheduled updates will be rolled out between mid-October and late December 2024. Companies are advised to ensure that their devices are updated and should check the Teams Admin Center for current firmware and application versions.
Microsoft's infrastructure changes will affect Teams Android Devices running outdated firmware and applications that are no longer supported. Starting from July 1, 2025, devices running old versions may be unstable, sign out, or experience other problems. Therefore, it is essential to update devices to version 5.0.6152.0. Devices that are no longer supported will not receive updates. Updates will occur outside business hours and override normal update timelines and maintenance windows. Companies can update their devices manually or allow automatic updates to proceed. If your organization doesn't use Teams Android Devices, you can disregard this message.
To check the current device inventory, organizations can export the details of their devices from Teams Admin Center > Teams Devices, and view the Company Portal version column to find out whether the devices have the latest version of the firmware and application. If devices are not updated, companies should update their Teams Android Devices to the latest available firmware in Teams Admin Center. For more details, refer to the provided link.
This mandatory upgrade is aimed at enhancing the stability of all certified and supported Teams Android devices, including Teams Rooms for Android, Teams Display, Teams Panel devices, and Teams Phone. It is advisable to update to the latest supported version (5.0.6152.0) as soon as possible to ensure device stability.
