Microsoft Teams: Track and pause automatic firmware updates for Android-based Teams devices in the Teams Admin Center
Microsoft Teams has introduced a new feature that allows IT administrators to track and pause automatic firmware updates for Android-based Teams devices in the Teams Admin Center. This feature provides IT admins with the ability to track the firmware being rolled out through automatic updates and pause updates temporarily to validate scenarios before releasing them. This is particularly useful for Teams Rooms on Android and Android-based Teams Phones, Panels, and displays.
To access this feature, administrators can navigate to the Teams Admin Center and track the firmware updates in a specific device. This feature will be available on all platforms, including GCC High, Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant), DoD, and GCC. The general availability release of this feature is expected in May 2023, and the feature ID is 119389.
By giving IT admins control over firmware updates, Microsoft Teams aims to improve the user experience for Teams devices, ensuring devices are always up to date with the latest features and functionality.
