Microsoft Teams devices: App-only updates for Android-based Teams devices
Microsoft is enhancing updates for Android-based Teams devices, making them more flexible and allowing for standalone app updates. From August 2024, administrators will be able to update individual components, such as Microsoft Intune and Authenticator, via the Teams admin center, offering quicker and easier access to the latest features, fixes and performance improvements. No preparation is required ahead of the rollout, and the process means that Company Portal, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Authenticator, Teams Admin agent, firmware and the Teams app will all be able to update through app-only releases. The update experience for firmware and the Teams app will not change, and administrators can monitor the progress of the updates in the device's history.
