Microsoft Teams: Explicit transcription consent to transcribe meetings
Microsoft Teams will be implementing a new policy between April and July 2024 that requires explicit consent from participants for transcription during meetings, as long as the policy 'get recording and transcription consent' is turned on. If a participant does not consent, they will not be able to unmute, turn on their camera, or share content during the meeting. Meetings organized by users within the tenant who have turned on this policy will require participants' agreement to be transcribed when transcription is started. Admins are encouraged to ensure the policy is turned on and participants can choose to agree or disagree to be transcribed. More information can be found in the attached link.
