Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – Exact Data Match to support multi-token corroborative evidence

Microsoft has announced that the Exact Data Match (EDM) feature in the Purview compliance portal will soon be supporting string match detection of multi-token corroborative evidence. This means that the feature will be able to detect fields with multiple words separated by spaces or punctuation without requiring mapping Sensitive Information Types (SITs) to multi-token corroborative evidence fields. The General Availability release of this feature is expected in July 2023. The platform, which will be available on the cloud, is set to be used worldwide in a standard multi-tenant instance, as well as in DoD, GCC, and GCC High instances. This product is a road-map feature ID 124847, created on April 27, 2023.

To sum it up, Microsoft's Purview compliance portal is set to provide better support for correlating sensitive information with multi-token evidence using Exact Data Match, without mapping those fields to specific Sensitive Information Types. The feature's release is expected to be in July 2023, and it will be available worldwide and across different platforms.
