Microsoft Teams: Performance improvements for meetings in Edge web browser for guests
Microsoft Teams is working to improve the performance of guest users in their Edge web browser during meetings. This will lead to faster joining times and is set to begin in early November 2024 and end by late January 2025. No admin action is required for the automatic rollout which is linked to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 401117.
Previously, anonymous users or guests may have experienced longer wait times when attempting to join Teams meetings. However, after the completion of this rollout, they should be able to join meetings faster, even on low-end devices. The rollout will start with the targeted release in early November 2024 and is expected to be completed by late January 2025 for the General Availability (GCC, GCC High, and DoD).
If you're an admin, there is no preparation needed as the rollout is automatic. The post on M365 Admin with message ID MC898391 further explains these improvements for guest users during meetings on Microsoft Teams using the Edge web browser.
