Teams Cross Cloud Guest Access Public Preview

Microsoft is introducing Cross Cloud Guest Access (CCGA) in Teams to allow for more collaboration experiences between tenants across Microsoft Clouds. With CCGA, guests can partake in a full collaboration experience, including chats, audio and video calls, file sharing, and screen sharing. The new feature is enabled via Azure Active Directory B2B and Cross Tenant Access Settings. The rollout started on July and is expected to complete by the end of July.

Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 145459 is associated to this, and it will only impact organizations with configured cross-tenant access settings between different Microsoft Clouds and Teams Guest Access. Any management tools used for B2B guests from the same cloud may need to be reviewed, updated, or extended to include support for B2B guests from another Microsoft Cloud. Additionally, customer's strict firewall rules to access M365 resources should be reviewed to enable communication with other Microsoft Clouds.

To use this feature, organizations should familiarize themselves with Azure Active Directory B2B, Cross Tenant Access Settings, Identity Governance, and Teams Guest Access. Additionally, client machines running Windows 10 or 11, Mac, Android, and iOS apps have minimum version requirements.
