Microsoft SharePoint: Feed for Viva Connections web part and Video news link end of support starting November 5, 2024

Microsoft SharePoint has announced that the support for the Feed for Viva Connections web part and Video news link will end on November 5, 2024. After this date, any un-replaced web parts will display an error. As per the support guidance, alternative solutions such as News, Viva Engage, File and Media, and Highlighted content, as well as video pages, are provided to users. On September 1, 2024, the Feed for Viva Connections web part was removed from the toolbox, and the Video news link was removed from the + New menu in the organizational site.

After November 5, 2024, the Feed for the Viva Connections web part and the Video news link will no longer be supported, and site editors are advised to replace them with the recommended alternative solutions. Failure to do so will result in an empty web part that no longer displays content or any Video news links that have not been removed. Visitors to the site will instead see an error message.
