SharePoint on Stream: Inline playback of videos in SharePoint Highlighted content web parts for Grid, list and Compact layouts

SharePoint users can now enjoy inline playback of videos in Highlighted content web parts for Grid, List, and Compact layouts. This new feature in SharePoint on Stream enables users to watch a video right on the SharePoint page without being redirected away, making for a seamless viewing experience. This feature keeps the video playing even when users browse or scroll through other content on the page.

This feature, which became generally available in September CY2022, is available for users of SharePoint on Stream worldwide, including DoD, GCC High, and GCC, on the web cloud instance of the platform. This is a major improvement in user experience for SharePoint users who can now watch videos while they continue browsing through other content on the platform.

To enjoy inline playback of videos in SharePoint on Stream, users simply click the video in the Highlighted content web part, and the video starts playing within the same page, in a seamless viewing experience. This feature is a valuable upgrade to make the SharePoint user experience more enjoyable and effective.
