Classic Teams Users Will be Automatically Updated to New Teams After March 31, 2024
If you use classic Teams, Microsoft has announced that you will be automatically updated to new Teams by March 31, 2024. The new Teams app for Windows and Mac offers a more performance-focused update, with features twice as fast and 50% less memory usage. There is no impact on the user experience, so no additional training will be required. Until March 31, 2024, users can continue to use classic Teams without issue. Microsoft encourages reviewing the service agreement and policy updates for a seamless transition to new Teams. Admins can enable new Teams in their organizations and should consider the robust IT admin policies and deployment options options. Note that users in the VDI environment and Microsoft Teams Rooms devices will not be affected by the auto-update timeline.
