Announcing the general availability of the new Microsoft Teams app for Windows and Mac
Microsoft has announced the general availability of its new Teams app for both Windows and Mac, including education customers. The company is also commencing the release of new Teams to public preview for government cloud customers (GCC and GCC-High) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) clients. The latest Teams app is nearly twice as fast as the previous version and uses 50% less memory. Notably, it has full feature parity for nearly every feature including third-party apps, breakout rooms, PSTN calling and more. The new app is quick to upgrade to and Administrators with "Use new Teams client" setting are urged to upgrade, with Classic Teams app users automatically upgraded to the new version in the coming months.
