Immersive Spaces for Teams Service Plan Update
Microsoft 365 and Office 365 licenses will soon have a new service plan called Immersive Spaces in Teams. Rollout is expected to begin in mid-January and is expected to be complete by late January 2024. The Mesh policy in the M365 Apps Admin Center used to manage the Mesh app on Meta Quest VR devices, including immersive spaces, will no longer be available by late February 2024. The new service plan will add immersive spaces to Teams meetings and provide more granular management controls to enable or disable Mesh experiences for specific users or groups. Access to immersive spaces experiences will be based on selections made with the immersive spaces service plan, as well as app permission policies configured in the Teams Admin Center, as documented in the Microsoft Learn tutorial "Set up immersive spaces for Teams". Users must enter into a separate agreement with Microsoft for Spatial Audio for Mesh experiences, including immersive spaces in Teams.
In conclusion, the new service plan will enhance the Teams meeting experience by transforming it into a 3D immersive experience.
