Stream Migration Tool and Delay Settings are Now Generally Available
Microsoft has recently made the Stream migration tool generally available to help IT admins migrate video content from Stream (Classic) to Stream (on SharePoint). The tool had been in the preview phase since August 2022, and now it can be accessed through the Stream Admin Center. The successor service, Stream (on SharePoint), is available for all customers, and migrating video content to it is a critical step in adopting it. Admins can also delay the change that will block users from uploading to Stream (Classic) by adjusting the default date settings, which were introduced as part of the Stream (Classic) retirement process. GCC customers are exempt from this as the retirement date for the GCC instance of Stream (Classic) has not yet been announced. This post is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 93361.
If you're an IT admin handling video content migration through Stream, these updates will affect you. Make sure to explore the Stream Admin Center and become familiar with the options available to you. And if you're in the GCC instance of Stream (Classic), stay tuned for announcements regarding retirement and migration tool availability.
