Updates in computation of network metrics and cross-collaboration metrics in Viva Insights

Viva Insights has announced an update to its network metrics and cross-collaboration queries, geared towards improving connection identification and data protection. Starting mid-November 2024, the update will roll out with minimal changes to query values. No action is necessary on the part of organizations. Specifically, the update is designed to enhance the calculation logic of network metrics, improving connection identification between licensed and unlicensed employees. Additionally, cross-collaboration query computation has been updated to safeguard the data of users who have opted out of Viva Insights. The rollout is expected to last until late November 2024, with query value changes between 3-5% during testing. As an organization, no action is necessary for the update.
