Sensitive meetings to be excluded from Viva Insights metrics

Sensitive meetings to be excluded from Viva Insights metrics

In a bid to protect the privacy of sensitive information shared in meetings, starting mid-September 2024, Viva Insights will exclude meetings marked as Private or Confidential from its metrics. This change will be fully rolled out by mid-October 2024. There is no action required from organizations, but updating of training and documentation may be considered. End-users of Outlook have the ability to set a meeting's sensitivity level to Private or Confidential to secure information they deem sensitive. To ensure such meetings are not analyzed, Viva Insights will remove meeting data with these sensitivity levels from metric computation. This change will exclude sensitive meetings from the output of Meeting Query, and sensitive subject data will remain hidden and cannot be used in any query.

This is a welcome move towards securing sensitive information and preventing unauthorized access to private data. Organizations need not take any action in response to this new policy, but updating training and documentation is always a good practice to keep employees informed of changes. Message ID: MC876291
