Categorize single items in conversation view in new Microsoft Outlook for Windows and web

Microsoft is adding a new feature to Outlook for Windows and web that enables users to categorize individual emails within the conversation view, enhancing organization and tracking. This feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 416450 and is set to roll out automatically from mid-November 2024 to mid-February 2025 without requiring any admin action. Categories will still function as they currently do, but this new functionality will allow users to add categories to individual email items while using the conversion view mode, consistent with the functionality from the previous version of Outlook. Organizations do not need to take any admin action, but may want to notify their users about this change and update relevant documentation as needed.
