Microsoft Teams: Meeting participants can choose a breakout room from a list

A new feature is on the horizon for Microsoft Teams users - breakout room participants will soon be able to choose their own rooms. This feature, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 121269, will begin rolling out in late September 2024. The feature will enable meeting organizers to make the list of breakout rooms visible to all participants and let them join the room of their choice. This is available on Teams for Windows, Mac, and the web and can simplify the coordination of breakout rooms for both organizers and participants. The feature will be on by default and requires no admin action before rollout. Organizers should inform users and update relevant documentation as necessary. To set up breakout rooms, organizers can look for the feature under the breakout rooms panel. This feature will be accessible to all participants on affected platforms when enabled by organizers. The rollout will happen automatically, and prior admin action is not needed.

So, if you're a regular user of Microsoft Teams, keep an eye out for this new feature that can enhance your experience and make breakout rooms more efficient.
