Preset Organizational Background (Premium)
This post discusses the new granular controls that have been introduced to the Organizational Defined Background capability for Teams Premium. With these controls, administrators can now show only custom backgrounds, require background blur, or preset an organizational background.
The preset organizational background feature enables IT administrators to define a default background for Teams Premium licensed users. When a user turns on their camera, the default background that was preset by the IT admin will appear without the ability for the user to change it.
To enable this feature, administrators need to go to Teams Admin Center, navigate to Meeting Policies, then Customization Policies, then select 'Enabled' for 'Backgrounds from your org,' upload org backgrounds, select the desired org background, and click 'Set as required.'
These granular controls will give admins greater flexibility in managing their organization's backgrounds in Teams. The update is expected to roll out from early February to early March 2024 for Teams Premium users.
