Microsoft Purview Information Protection: Sensitivity label required to restrict permissions for labeling-enabled users
Microsoft Purview Information Protection is set to require sensitivity labels to restrict permissions for labeling-enabled users. This change means that users who have sensitivity labels available will no longer be able to restrict permissions without a label in most cases. Instead, they will be redirected to a sensitivity labeling dialog where they can choose the appropriate label to restrict permissions. The UX feature allowing users to remove encryption or permission information without changing the sensitivity label will also be removed. These changes are set to go into effect on iOS Cloud Instance GCC High, GCC, and Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant) platforms, with a General Availability Release date of June CY2023. Stay informed about this roadmap change and more at the official Microsoft 365 Roadmap page.
