New Microsoft Outlook for Windows and Web: Conditional Formatting
Microsoft Outlook for Windows and Web is introducing a new feature called Conditional Formatting that enables users to highlight messages that meet certain conditions in the message list using different font colors. The feature will roll out worldwide, including GCC, GCC High, and DoD from mid-March to mid-April 2024.
Users can create their own formatting rules in the Mail Settings section by choosing specific conditions such as From, To, Cc, and Subject, and applying one of the 25 different colors available for Light and Dark modes. It is not necessary to take any action to prepare for this change, and the feature is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 167976.
By enabling users to define conditions for incoming messages, this feature is similar to the existing rules functionality while making sure that messages that meet specific criteria stand out on the message list. There is no need to take any specific action as the Conditional Formatting feature will be available to all users using Outlook for Windows and Web, and users are encouraged to update their documentation and inform their users of this upcoming change.
