Microsoft Teams: Easily insert hyperlinks in messages

Microsoft Teams: Easily insert hyperlinks in messages

Microsoft Teams is set to introduce a new feature that will allow users to insert hyperlinks in chats by pasting a URL over selected text, similar to Outlook and Loop. This feature will be available on Teams for Windows and Mac, and will be rolled out in early December 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-December 2024 for General Availability. With this update, users will be able to quickly and efficiently create hyperlinks in messages by selecting the text and pasting the URL on top of it, eliminating the need for the Insert link button or the Ctrl+K shortcut. No admin action is required for this change, and it will be on by default.

If you're a Microsoft Teams user, this change is likely to simplify your workflow and make it easier to create and share links in your chats and channel messages. The rollout will happen automatically by the specified date, so no action is required on the part of the admin. However, it may be a good idea to update relevant documentation and notify users about the upcoming change.
