Microsoft 365 App: New sensitivity bar in Microsoft 365 apps on Windows for viewing and applying sensitivity labels powered by Microsoft Purview

Microsoft has introduced a new sensitivity bar feature for its Microsoft 365 apps on Windows platform, powered by Microsoft Purview. This feature provides users with a more prominent and contextual user experience for viewing and applying sensitivity labels in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The sensitivity bar will be rolled out in phases and preview dates may differ between the apps, but the general availability date will be consistent for all apps. This feature is set to release in July CY2023 for the Current Channel Release desktop platform and will be available on the GCC High and DoD cloud instances.

For those looking to learn more about this feature, the associated roadmap ID is 139362, and the roadmap link can be found on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.
