Microsoft Teams: Lobby experience for external presenters in town hall and webinar

Microsoft Teams is enhancing the lobby experience for external presenters in town halls and webinars. Following a rollout starting from early July 2024, unauthenticated external guests will wait in the lobby where organizers can approve or deny access. External presenters, who can be guests that are federated, unfederated, or anonymous to the organization, who haven't been successfully authenticated will be brought into the lobby, rather than being restricted access when joining the event. Once in the lobby, internal organizers or presenters can approve or deny their request to join the event. It is recommended to keep the lobby enabled if inviting external presenters.

Starting early July 2024, the lobby experience improvement will be rolled out to organizations automatically, with no admin action required. It is recommended that event organizers are informed about this change and appropriate documentation is updated. The post provides more information, including how the changes will affect organizations and steps to create town halls in Microsoft Teams.

Overall, Microsoft Teams continues to prioritize external presenters' experience in town halls and webinars by enhancing accessibility and event management, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all attendees.
