Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Microsoft Copilot for Security Alert summary

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is set to receive a new feature called Microsoft Copilot for Security. This feature is designed to help users summarize alerts and quicken the pace of data security investigations. Microsoft plans to release the public preview in April 2024, followed by general availability in May. Access to this feature requires specific permissions and licenses. Copilot in Insider Risk Management summaries will provide investigators with contextual information, such as user intent and the timeline of possible data security threats, thereby enabling them to investigate accordingly. To use this feature, users must have a Copilot for Security license and access to specific permissions. The rollout process is expected to begin early April 2024 and continue until late April 2024. No admin action is necessary before rollout begins. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is capable of preventing malicious or unintentional insider risks, such as IP theft, security violations, and data leakage. It allows users to create policies based on their organizational requirements and internal policies. This solution is privacy-focused, ensuring user-level privacy through role-based access controls, pseudonymization, and audit logs.
