Microsoft Teams: Archive channels

Microsoft Teams has released a new feature called Archive Channels, which allows owners and administrators to archive unused channels while still preserving their content, including messages, files, and tabs. Once a channel is archived, it is removed from the active teams and channels list, and no actions can be performed on it. However, if needed, administrators can restore the channel. This feature was released as part of the General Availability release phase on desktop platforms, and is available on several cloud instances such as DoD, Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant), GCC, and GCC High. The feature was created on October 28, 2023, and can be found on the roadmap ID 123769.
For Microsoft Teams users, this is a helpful tool to keep their channels organized and streamlined by removing channels that are no longer in use, without losing any important content.
