Microsoft Purview compliance portal is set to revolutionize the way OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is performed. The portal aims to offer OCR support for embedded images in various file formats, including hybrid PDF files, office files like DOCX, PPTX, XLSX and container files such as zip, rar and 7z. Currently, OCR is available only for standalone images.
The General Availability Release date for the product is set for December CY2023, and the platform will be available worldwide on a Web Cloud Instance. The aim is to make the portal compliant and versatile. The project carries the Roadmap ID 160010 and can be reviewed via the link provided.
