Microsoft Teams: New policy for voice and face enrollment defaulting to ‘On’

Microsoft Teams: New policy for voice and face enrollment defaulting to ‘On’

Microsoft Teams is implementing a new policy that enhances voice and face enrollment features, making them default to 'On' for better meeting experiences. The rollout begins in early October 2024, with complete policy implementation by mid-January 2025. The new csTeamsAIPolicy replaces the csTeamsMeetingPolicy, featuring two separate settings for EnrollFace and EnrollVoice to enhance administrative control, customization, and management of voice and face biometric enrollments. This change allows organizations to tailor their meetings to specific needs, incorporating such features as voice isolation, speaker recognition in meeting rooms, intelligent meeting recaps, and Microsoft Copilot for meetings. Even if an organization does not require speaker recognition and voice detection, they can still manage these features by adjusting the settings using the new policy. Admins have until mid-January 2025 to configure and customize the settings to best fit their organization's interests. This update provides greater flexibility and control over managing voice and face enrollment, eventually leading to more efficient and productive meetings. This change is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 413708.
