Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Communication Compliance – Detect Copilot for Microsoft 365 interactions template

The Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance tool is expanding its capabilities with a new template coming soon. The template will allow administrators to analyze all Copilot for Microsoft 365 prompts and responses to help ensure they align with customer policies. This will enable administrators to fine-tune compliance management strategies precisely to their organization's needs with a focus on user privacy protection while also ensuring that the communications remain secure, compliant, and respectful. The feature will also allow administrators to select Copilot chats as a checked location in the policy creation wizard for new or existing policies. The standard release is set to roll out on January 2024. Access to the Communication Compliance solution can be obtained through the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.

Overall, this new template will help organizations detect business conduct and regulatory compliance violations such as sensitive or confidential information, harassing or threatening language, and sharing of adult content. With privacy and security designed into the Communication Compliance solution, usernames are pseudonymized by default, role-based access controls are built-in, investigators are opted in by an admin, and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy. Administrators can create the Copilot for Microsoft 365 policy template, fill in the required information and submit the policy for creation.
