Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management- Risky AI usage

Microsoft is set to introduce a new feature to its Purview Insider Risk Management tool that will detect risky artificial intelligence usage. The AI usage detection, which will be released in a public preview in December 2024 and in general availability in February 2025, will enable admins to identify intentional and unintentional insider risk activity on generative AI apps that could pose a risk to an organization. The feature will cover M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and ChatGPT Enterprise and will contribute to Adaptive Protection insider risk levels. Admins can prepare for the update by gaining insights into risky AI usage at an organizational level, creating a risky AI usage policy, using the new Generative AI indicators and more. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is focused on identifying potentially malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage and security violations, and enabling users to create policies based on their internal policies and organizational requirements while ensuring user-level privacy.
