Outlook Web and New Outlook for Windows: Sort by Category
Users of Outlook Web and New Outlook for Windows can now sort their emails by categories in the inbox and other folders. This new feature, currently rolling out and expected to be completed by mid-December 2024, allows users to group related emails directly in the message list, helping them stay focused and organized. While the ability to sort email messages in the message list was already available, users can now select the "Category" option to group their emails based on their assigned categories. Emails tagged with two or more categories will appear in each corresponding section, with the sort order set per folder and persisting until the user changes the sorting preference.
No action is required to prepare for this change. Organizations may want to notify their users about this update and adjust relevant documentation accordingly.
