Outlook: Reactions to Email Messages

Outlook now allows you to react to an email message with the click of a button. This new feature enables users to respond to a message sent from someone within the same tenant without sending a reply email. The reactions icon, which appears as a face in a message, will display a selection of six possible reactions, including Thumbs Up, Heart, Celebrate, Laugh, Surprise, and Sad. When a user clicks on a reaction, everyone in the email thread within the same tenant can see it. Reactions will also send a digest email to the user who received any reactions. While mid-October will see a rollout of the feature for Outlook for iOS, Android, Mac, and new Outlook for Windows, the Classic Outlook for Windows will have to wait till late December. It is important to note that users can only react and see reactions to messages sent from people in the same tenant.
Overall, this feature enables users to display appreciation and empathy with one click. It also allows users to communicate more easily and swiftly, without having to send a reply email to the recipient. For people who receive a large number of emails per day, it could save time by reducing the number of emails that require a response.
