Announcing Ability to Digitally Sign VBA Projects in Microsoft Access Databases

Announcing Ability to Digitally Sign VBA Projects in Microsoft Access Databases

Microsoft Access database authors can now digitally sign the database to cover VBA code and other elements of the database such as Access macros and action queries with a code signing certificate. The digital signature enables databases to execute VBA code and other active elements when the Trust Center Macro Settings are set to only allow digitally signed VBA macros to run. The feature is available in Beta and Current Channel (Preview) now, for Office version 2211 and subsequent versions and will be available in Current Channel starting with Office Version 2211 in late November. This will not affect users or tenants unless organizations choose to use it. Organizations that want to enable the setting to run only digitally signed VBA macros can prepare for it by ensuring that the desired databases with active content are signed with a certificate from a trusted publisher. This update was announced on M365 Admin.
