The August 2024 Windows security update is now available

The August 2024 security update for all supported versions of Windows is now available, and it is highly recommended that you install it promptly to ensure the security of your system. The release notes for the update can be found easily on the Windows 11 and Windows 10 update history pages. The update includes various improvements for Windows 11, versions 23H2 and 22H2, such as an issue with BitLocker and the removal of the NetJoinLegacyAccountReuse registry key. The update addresses CVE-2024-38143, which resulted in the “Use my windows user account” checkbox being unavailable on the lock screen to connect to Wi-Fi. The KB for your respective operating system can be found in the original post's content. It should be noted that the October 2024 security update will be the last security release for Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 22H2, and Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11, version 21H2, after which they will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates providing protection from the latest security threats. Supported editions of Windows 11, versions 23H2 and 22H2 will continue to.
