The April 2024 security update is now available

Attention Windows 11 and Windows 10 users! The April 2024 security update is now available. It is highly recommended that you install this update as soon as possible. The release notes, available on the Windows 11 and Windows 10 update history pages, provide detailed information about the contents of this update. One crucial issue resolved in this update is a problem affecting Windows Server domain controllers (DCs), addressed through out-of-band updates released in March 2024. The update introduces various enhancements for Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 22H2. Now, you can use all voice access features on multiple displays, including number and grid overlays that were previously limited to the primary display. Also, the update improves Narrator’s ability to detect text, including handwriting, in images. In addition, Nearby Share has been improved, letting you use quick settings to enable it, rename your device, and more. Moreover, the update has added suggestions to Snap Layouts, a feature that instantly snaps multiple app windows together, making multitasking more comfortable and efficient.

Keep in mind that the June 2024 security update is the last security release for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 10, version 21H2, while Windows 10, version 22H2, is the final version of Windows 10. All editions of Windows 10 will continue to receive monthly security updates through October 14, 2025. Enterprise and IoT Enterprise LTSB/LTSC editions of version 21H2 will continue to receive mainstream support until January 12, 2027.
