Syntex OCR is generally available
The Syntex OCR feature is now generally available, providing users with the ability to extract text from images and PDFs. This feature has been moved from public preview to generally available which means it can be accessed and used by all. The rollout for the Standard Release will begin mid-October 2023 and is expected to complete by early November 2023.
To utilize the GA version of Syntex OCR, users need to visit the Syntex setup page in the Microsoft Admin Center and connect their Azure subscription to enable Pay-as-you-go billing. Once connected, users can configure the sites they want OCRed. It's essential to notify compliance admins that OCR can be configured in Microsoft Purview once billing is connected to Syntex.
