Microsoft 365 apps: Improved resharing experience
Microsoft 365 apps are introducing an improved resharing experience, allowing users to copy view-only links directly from the Share dialog and request sharing permissions from file owners if necessary. This feature eliminates the previous default “Only people with existing access” link, which did not always target the intended audience. With the new update, anyone who accesses a Microsoft 365 apps file with view-only permissions will see this new experience. The rollout commences in late June 2024 and is completed by mid-July 2024, and no admin action is needed. To prepare for this automatic update, you should notify your users and update relevant documentation.
